meet the hearts behind sagestone adventure lodge
hello, friend.
one of the things i love most about hosting retreats is introducing people to places that feel special long before they arrive.
places that seem to have a story woven into the landscape.
places where you can feel the care, intention, and heart behind every detail.
sagestone adventure lodge is one of those places.
nestled in the mountains of twin lakes, colorado, sagestone is more than a retreat venue. it's a place shaped by family, community, adventure, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
before you arrive, i wanted to introduce you to some of the incredible people who help make this experience possible.
a shared vision rooted in the mountains
sagestone adventure lodge was created through a shared vision of adventure, restoration, meaningful connection, and a deep love for the colorado mountains.
founded by mother-daughter team patsy bracy and addie bracy, the lodge was intentionally designed as a place where people could gather, slow down, and reconnect with both nature and themselves.
from the architecture to the atmosphere, every detail reflects warmth, hospitality, and a profound respect for the surrounding landscape.
it's the kind of place that immediately encourages you to exhale.
patsy bracy
every meaningful place begins with a vision.
for sagestone, much of that vision came from patsy bracy.
with a background in design, construction, and hospitality, patsy helped bring the lodge to life through thoughtful craftsmanship and intentional design.
her influence can be felt throughout the property, from the welcoming gathering spaces to the details that create a sense of comfort and belonging.
the result is a place that feels both elevated and deeply personal.
addie bracy
for those who spend time in the endurance and mountain running world, addie bracy may already be a familiar name.
addie is a three-time usa women's mountain runner of the year, three-time olympic trials qualifier, coach, and author of mental training for ultrarunning.
her work explores the relationship between mindset, resilience, performance, and our connection to the outdoors.
most recently, addie served as coach and pacer for rachel entrekin during her historic first-place finish and course record performance at the 2026 cocodona 250 in arizona. the race covers 250 miles and nearly 38,800 feet of elevation gain across challenging desert and mountain terrain.
rachel's remarkable achievement was later featured in runner's world magazine, which highlighted both her performance and emerging research exploring the extraordinary physical and psychological demands of ultradistance endurance.
addie also set the women's course record at the 2026 ram party 55 miler in colorado springs.
what i admire most about addie is not simply her athletic accomplishments, but her understanding that endurance is about more than physical strength. it's about mindset, presence, adaptability, and our relationship with challenge.
those same values are woven into the spirit of sagestone.
misti cureton & jr fearneyhough
while guests often experience the beauty of sagestone during their stay, much of what makes the lodge feel so welcoming happens behind the scenes.
misti cureton and jr fearneyhough oversee the day-to-day operations and care of the property.
misti is a sixth-generation twin lakes local whose family roots run deep in this valley. her grandfather built the original log cabin portion of what is now sagestone, adding another layer of history to a place already rich with character.
through their stewardship, guests are welcomed into a space that feels authentic, grounded, and connected to the local community.
their nearby farm and animals add another layer of warmth to the experience and offer opportunities for guests to enjoy the slower rhythms of mountain life.
why this matters
when choosing a retreat, it's easy to focus on the schedule.
the activities.
the accommodations.
the meals.
but what often leaves the deepest impression is the people.
the people who welcome you.
the people who care for the space.
the people who believe in creating meaningful experiences.
one of the reasons i chose sagestone adventure lodge as the home for joyful wanderer wellness retreats is because of the people behind it.
their values align beautifully with what we hope to create.
connection.
presence.
adventure.
restoration.
community.
and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
